As far as we know, brass ball valve is a ball valve whose main material is brass, especially its valve body. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. It is used in decorative and low friction applications such as locks, gears, bearings, door handles, ammunition and valves with its bright golden appearance. Brass ball valves have a variety of standards, such as standard number GB/T15185-1994, standard number NF/E29-354-2003, standard number JB/T8861-2004.

As for the working principle, it is similar to the ball valve. A brass ball valve is also a quarter-turn valve with the ball placed in the channel through which the fluid flows. The ball has a hole through which the valve opens and closes. When the ball is positioned this way, the hole is in the same direction as the channel, fluid simply flows through the hole, and the valve opens. However, when the ball is positioned in this way with the hole perpendicular to the channel, fluid cannot pass and the valve closes. All in all, it is a good shutoff, throttle control and fluid control application.

Brass ball valves have the following advantages. First, it has very low fluid resistance. The full bore has virtually no fluid resistance. Secondly, the brass ball valve is simple in structure and light in weight. So very easy to operate and maintain. Third, the seal and ball of the valve are often closed, making the valve very reliable and not easily corroded by the working medium. Fourth, it is suitable for regular operation and quick opening and closing. Last but not least, the flow direction of the medium is not restricted by the mounting direction and is very arbitrary. Based on the above characteristics, brass ball valves are widely used in residential and light commercial applications. Typical services include: Multipurpose shut-off valves for domestic hot and cold water systems, natural or bottled gas and compressed air systems.
